The FLOM mobile flood barrier system provides a modern and effective alternative to traditional sandbags. It can be deployed along rivers and watercourses to protect towns and communities against flooding and overflowing water. The system is also suitable for industrial facilities, commercial properties and residential buildings exposed to flash floods.
One of its key advantages is rapid installation without the need for permanent foundations or extensive construction work. FLOM can be deployed wherever flood protection is required, making it suitable for protecting large areas, individual entrances and access roads. Its modular design allows a flexible response to changing flood conditions.
The FLOM system is designed for quick and easy assembly and disassembly. Its lightweight components simplify handling and allow the barrier to be erected rapidly, even during emergency situations.
The barrier can be installed on various surfaces, including grass, concrete and asphalt, as well as in water. This versatility makes it suitable for a wide range of flood protection applications.
FLOM offers several economic advantages over conventional flood protection methods. No permanent foundation is required, eliminating the associated construction costs. The system represents a one-time investment and can be reused repeatedly.
Unlike traditional sandbags, FLOM does not require disposal after contact with floodwater. Its compact design also helps minimise storage requirements and associated costs.
Various storage and transport solutions are available upon request, including custom-made metal pallets, car trailers and storage containers suitable for long-term storage.
These options make FLOM particularly suitable for fire and rescue services that need to respond quickly to flood emergencies. The components can be stored systematically, handled easily and transported directly to the deployment site, allowing flood protection to be established wherever it is needed.
Compared with traditional sandbags, FLOM provides a reusable alternative that significantly reduces the need for disposable flood protection materials.
After use, the components can simply be rinsed with clean water and stored for future deployment. There is no need for the disposal procedures typically associated with contaminated sandbags, helping to reduce waste and simplify post-flood operations.
The FLOM mobile flood barrier has undergone load testing to verify its resistance to the impact of flood waves and floating debris. The system has been tested and certified, including verification under real-world conditions.
Its robust construction and modular design provide reliable protection against flowing floodwater, making it suitable for demanding flood protection applications.
The FLOM mobile flood barrier system is available in three variants: FLOM 500, FLOM 700 and FLOM 1300. They differ primarily in the maximum water column height they can withstand, their structural design and the level of flood protection they provide.
FLOM 500 is the fastest variant to assemble. It features the simplest system configuration with the fewest components, allowing exceptionally quick installation and dismantling.
This makes it particularly suitable for situations where an immediate response and rapid deployment are essential.
The system is designed to withstand a maximum water column height of 500 mm. According to the product specifications, a team of four people can assemble a 30-metre-long barrier in approximately 10 minutes.

FLOM 700 uses the same number of component types as FLOM 500, but its individual panels are narrower. As a result, more components are required to construct a barrier of the same length, resulting in a slightly longer assembly time.
FLOM 700 provides increased flood protection while retaining the straightforward modular design of the system.
It is designed for a maximum water column height of 700 mm, with an estimated assembly time of 12 minutes for a 30-metre-long barrier using four people.

FLOM 1300 is designed for applications requiring protection against significantly higher water levels. Its more robust construction provides increased resistance to hydrostatic pressure, making it suitable for locations exposed to greater flood risks.
Due to its structural design and larger components, FLOM 1300 requires more time to assemble than the other variants.
The system provides protection against a maximum water column height of 1,300 mm. A team of four people can assemble a 30-metre-long barrier in approximately 20 minutes.

Thanks to their modular design, all FLOM variants can be adapted to the required length and layout of the protected area, providing flexible flood protection for a wide range of applications.
